PIA Flight PK-661 with 47 People Crashes Near Havelian

PIA Flight PK-661 (Chitral to Islamabad)

A Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight PK-661 was gone missing and later reported to be crashed on the way to Islamabad from Chitral.

The flight was carrying a total of 47 passengers on board and all the passengers are feared dead in this dreadful accident.

According to civil aviation authority, 47 people were on board but Sohail Ahmed, a PIA official in Chitral said there were 42 people on board including five crew members.

The flight took off at 3:30 pm from Chitral and went missing near Abbotabad. Pilots lose contact with the control tower around 4:22 pm. The aircraft from Chitral was scheduled to land at Islamabad airport at 5:30 pm. But, unfortunately the aircraft encountered a mechanical snag and crashed in Piplian. Piplian is ten kilometers at distance from Havelian, Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa.

The plane manifest shows there were to be 31 men, 9 women and 2 infants on board. The jet including former singer converted to evangelist Junaid Jamshed and his wife.

The brother of Junaid Jamshed confirmed the reports of his travelling in the crashed flight.

The famous religious leader and preacher of Pakistan, Junaid Jamshed was in Chitral for a Tableeghi session and was returning to Islamabad with his wife when the craft crashed.

Junaid Jamshed was a prominent member of Pakistan’s Tableeghi Jamaat and an activist for Islamic activities. He served his whole life in serving humanity and for the betterment of Muslim society.

Junaid Jamshed gained the popularity in 1980s and 1990s as a lead singer of top band Vital Sign. But, later he decided to follow the path of Allah and sacrifice his career for this great cause.

Besides Junaid Jamshed other prominent names were also on this flight including Deputy Commissioner Chitral Osama Waraich and at least three foreigners as well.

Civil and Military rescue teams have been dispatched to the area to find the where bouts of the aircraft. The Prime Minister has also directed all authorities to immediately reach the site and start rescue and relief operation as soon as possible.

The aircraft burned so bad that all the good hopes were comes to an end and there were no chance for any passenger to be survived in this horrific accident of the year.

The news of Junaid Jamshed presence in the aircraft was also lead the nation to the grief and mourning and every single person is hoping for the news turn out to be fake. But unfortunately it is true.
