Saif ul Malook Lake is located at the northern end of the Kaghan near Naran Valley in the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province of Pakistan at an altitude of 3,224 m (10,578 feet) above sea level, Saif ul Malook is amongst one of the highest lakes in Pakistan. At such altitude, Lake is close to the tourist route of Naran and Kaghan Valley. A report of survey done by The Guardians says lake Saif ul Malook is the 5th Best Tourist Destination in Pakistan, In a real sunny day, lake offers superb views and feeling as sitting in heaven.

Lake water reflects a number of colors with sun shine making a wonderful view. The Queen of the Parbat “Malka Parbat” is located in the back drop of the lake; a mere few hundred yards and has a height of 17,360 feet (5291.33 meters) is standing in the east with reflection in the mirror of Lake Saif ul Maluk. A large glacier in the way to lake is another exciting attraction. The Kaghan Valley is part of the western-most off-shoot of Himalayas which is the highest mountain range in the world. When To Visit

It is better to Visit in Summer Season from June to September because the lake is Accessible for tourists only in these Days due to heavy snow fall and glaciers. Wearing a jacket is recommended. Lake remained frozen in winter season as heavy snowfall makes journey very tough. Only trekkers can access lake in snow because road denies any transportation.

Water of the oval shaped lake is over a mile in diameter; outstandingly clear in slight green tone with snow dressed peaks in the foreground.

How to Reach

The lake is accessible for visitors from June to September almost 10 kilometers from Naran village, Saif ul Malook Lake accessible through 4×4 vehicles through Naran Valley. Jeeps are available in Naran Bazaar against Rs.2000-Rs.3000 range. The Journey takes about an hour on a non furnished road (Track of Rocks) starting from Naran.

You can also reach via trekking the whole path offers attractive beauty and recommended for walk also. A four to five hours steep hike journey for willing trekkers presents fantastic views.

Precautions

Wearing a jacket is recommended. It is preferable that you must take meals from Nagar. Due to an unkind weather during winter you can only visit during summers. Must take your Jackets and Sweaters and the most important thing is Jogger Shoes.
